Pink. Oh, and purple.

Harri’s friends are all starting to turn 5. Yes, five.

Now that I am not running ITR anymore, I have more time to sew for pleasure, and given all of these little ones love clothes, I thought I’d make a bunch of skirts in their favourite colours.

Me : “Harri, what’s Jessie’s favourite colour?”

Harriet: “Pink”

Me: “Ok, and what’s Millie’s favourite colour?

Harriet: “Pink”

Me: “Uh huh, and Emily?”

Harriet: “Pink”

Me:”Ok, and Georgie?”

Harriet: “Pink…Oh, and purple.”

And there it was. One little escape from….pink.

So we chose our fabric and ribbon, and over the last few days I’ve pinned and stitched three pink skirts and one purple. (Oh you should see the stash of blue fabric I have. The next kid is getting blue).

Fortunately there a are quite a few shades of pink.

I’ve cut out two more denim chambray skirts for Harri, but no flowers. We have a ‘people of the world theme’ and a ‘going to Paris’ theme. This fabric has to be seen to be believed. The latter comes from Harri’s obsession with Barbie and Barbie movies, including this one.

Yep. She goes to Paris, to become a musketeer. Who says she’s a bad role model?

I think Harri’s love of pink is rubbing off on me, I just starting cutting out squares for a new quilt top…in pinks.

Don’t you be forgetting Annie. She’s a loving blue all the days.
