Weekend bliss

I was so excited when I popped in to Amite a few weeks ago and saw that they had Amy Butler oilcloth. It’s much lighter and softer than the usual stuff ex Mexico and, of course, has those gorgeous colours.

I snapped up a half metre (it’s not cheap) and came home and popped onto my favourite online fabric store and ordered some heavy weight fabric from the same range for coordinating napkins. I’ve had this swinging around since a few weeks before the move, and unlike my usual fleeting taste with fabric, I still love it. Yesterday, in the midst of pouring rain, I sat down and made it up. Anyone wanna come round for dinner? I can’t cook, but gee the table will look swell.

(they’re reversible, the backing is the cotton pictured above)

While I was at it I also made up a cushion with fabric from Echino’s Winter/Fall ’10 range which I picked up on Friday. The colours are perfect on our new Eames rocker (imitation of course), and the animals and genre fit in well with a bit of an animal/Japanese theme we seem to have going on.

If only I didn’t have a day job.
