Roughing it.

We did our first family camping trip on Good Friday & Saturday. It was fabulous. Thanks to some generous friends, we had a perfect spot at the top of a hill overlooking the mountains and the Great Ocean Road.

Despite the forecast, it rained pretty much the whole time, and there was quite a bit of wind, but my outdoorsy husband managed to get the fire going and the food cooking.

(I love this photo. We’re camping, and it’s freezing, and I still can’t get Harri out of a skirt).

Still, there was plenty to do to take our mind off the weather. Like a saunter on this gorgeous beach.

Harri climbed up here at least 5 times without any help, and then slid on down again. Such strong little legs.

It then started to rain even harder, so we headed for the only covered spot we could find. The Rainforest.

(Triplet Falls. An omen, perhaps?)

Looks fantastic. We have been down at the coast having a ball. Easter egg hunt in the rain but otherwise the weather has been OK. Maybe we can do some camping half way between M and C. 3.5 hours each?
