Amy Butler cake

I’m not a fan of cooking, not in the least because I’m not very good at it. But we have a work lunch tomorrow and I volunteered to bring a carrot cake, aka the only sweet dish I can make.

I plodded through the sifting, mixing, pouring and (sigh) cleaning up stage knowing that it would all be worthwhile when I could place the finished product on an Amy Butler plate from here and photograph it on Amy Butler fabric from here.

I love carrot cake. But my go-to recipe for morning teas or cake stalls or anything is for Chocolate Fudge Brownies… melt the butter, mix in one bowl with a wooden spoon, very easy to clean up. (the recipe is on my blog).
