A new beginning

Despite being in the midst of mayhem, preparing for the kidsinstyle expo in a mere 4 weeks, I had reason this weekend to revamp my workroom (ok, so the whole house).  I’m hoping there’ll be some nice pay off for this hard yakka venture, but if nothing else, I do now have a lovely workroom.

Here’s what it looked like just after we moved here out to the burbs, and shoved my stuff in the workroom before anyone (i.e. husband) could claim it as a spare room…

I spent a couple of hours last night designing and cutting, and I must say it felt pretty nice having such a clean space to work in.

BUT, when you’re sewing, the reality is that you need so many things at the ready to complete one item of clothing, that it’s not really practical to have everything hived away neatly.  In other words, the room won’t stay like this for long.  But for the moment, I am loving the serenity.  And after a weekend of complete gluttony, I need it.

PS.  The gluttonous items…

Is it any consolation that I had vege soup both nights?
